LEARNER SELECTION AND ADMISSION
Sisephe Construction and Skills Training uphold the principle that all applicants seeking to enroll are treated
equitably. SCST has open, fair and transparent procedures that are based on clearly defined entry criteria for
making decisions about the selection of learners. Learners will be selected on merit based on the published
criteria. Each learner’s admission shall be subject to the learner’s acceptance of SCST rules and regulations
ADMISSION AND GENERAL REGULATIONS
Persons seeking to enroll in a SCST education courses are required to submit, by the date prescribed, acceptable evidence that they meet the published entry criteria for their chosen course. Applications for admission to a course shall be made on the prescribed form and lodged in the manner
prescribed. A learner shall be deemed to be no longer enrolled in a course at
SCST if: • The learner’s enrollment in the course has been terminated; or
• The learner has been excluded on academic or disciplinary grounds.
SPECIAL ADMISSION CATEGORIES
• RPL from other post- secondary institutes in South Africa
• Applicants who have not completed grade 10 or equivalent, but who have worked in a relevant
field and wish to further their education will be assessed individually according to the Recognition
of Prior Learning (RPL) principles. These applicants need to illustrate their knowledge and relevant
output by means of panel meetings and an investigation into their prior learning experience.
• All persons aged 18 years and over will have access to training.
• Training wills focus on unskilled and unemployed persons.
• Entry – Level requirements will depend on the course requirements.
• A registration form will be completed by every learner.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
General admission requirements:
In general, the following admission criteria apply:
• Successful completion of grade 10 or equivalent or
• Successful completion of the equivalent academic learning of an NQF 2 qualification.
• An applicant who does not have the above will be given numeracy and visual test
